During my 20+ years working with adults, adolescents, and children, I have developed an integrative approach to psychological assessment and psychotherapy that includes a firm respect for the the science of psychology and its empirically validated treatments, as well as an awareness of the uniqueness and holistic nature of human development and meaning-making across the life span.
I use many approaches depending on what a client is experiencing, what the client and/or family’s goals are, and what has and has not worked in the past. I use all and any means necessary to help clients take a fresh look at what is going on in their lives. I help them prepare and practice the new perspective or skills they need to have a better experience of themselves, their relationships, and their world.
Some of the approaches I use are:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Collaborative Problem Solving
- Family Systems Therapy (structural and communication models)
- Humanistic/Existential Therapy
- Interpersonal and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Play Therapy
